I am still at the ICU and I realize that the recovery process will last longer than expected, but there is hope because the recovery process improves a little bit day by day. No more heavy pain medication needed, the sleep is ok and I had my first successful visit to the loo for two weeks. Jipiieeeeee, time to celebrate!

Lab-Results
Today my doctor received the lab results and she rushed into my room to tell me the good news. They checked some of the removed tissue because they suspected cancerous cells.
“It’s your second birthday today. Mark the date.” The doctor smiled at me

Complications
Unfortunately, my digestive system isn’t restarting fast enough. The adjustment to the rewiring of my digestive system was not a small task and a common side effect is a slow digestive system.

Recap: Colours Inside! :)
After the operation, there was pain and I asked the nurse: “Is there anything with colours inside to help me to be as comfortable as possible for the moment?”
She smiled at me and replied. “I think I can help you with that. I will need to ask the doctor for a prescription, but that’s no problem. I will be back in a minute.” She smiled and left the room.
Two minutes later she returned with a big syringe and a button.” She connected the syringe and passed the button to me.
“You can click maximum four times per hour. You can go slow and watch a movie, then click every fifteen minutes. Or you go full stuff, click four times at once and relax a bit. It”s up to you.”
This foto was taken after taking a few shots. Looking alright for the moment.

Today is the day!
On Friday morning the nurse woke me up at 06:00, to have a shower and shave my belly.
Dressing up in the blue theatre clothing. Now it starts to get very real.
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to have any coffee and I am very nervous.
To the theatre
I was driven in my bed to the preparation area. It’s a cold place down in the cellar. Have you ever felt the cold of an operation theatre?
Green dressed nurses and doctors rush around, I need to wait a few minutes… Sitting on the cold stainless-steel table the tension raises, I shiver. There is no way of turning back now.

I checked into the Asclépios Hospital in Seehausen. Acute infection of the pancreas, painful and might be life-threatening. Blood was drawn, a biopsy done, infusions connected and much more. At first, they suspected much worse. I needed to stay for ten days.

It’s “Teatime”!
A dreadful day!
Vil woke up and immediately felt that something is seriously wrong. He is used to regular nausea and pain in the morning and most of the time he can fix himself with some Primperan, MCP or something else, but today was different, something was seriously wrong.
He went to his GP to get a second opinion, some medication, and a sick cert. The GP draw some blood, gave him a shot of MCP and some Domperidone drip added with a wide selection of serious painkillers.
“I will call you when I got the results. After the infusion is finished you go home and try to get some rest.”

12:00 PM – Wake up and a disappointing message (AGAIN!)
Two weeks ago Vil went for a procedure which normally lasts around thirty minutes, but as always, it was a completely different story. The procedure lasted for five hours and after this, they needed to re-schedule, because they made so much ‘minced meat’ inside Vil that they needed to stop, so we waited for two weeks at our camping spot in Uitgeest for ‘Part-II’ and today was the day. We got up very early and I was brought to a friend of us, while Vil went to the hospital.

Propofol – Vil & M.J. united.
We got up very early and I was brought to a friend of us, while Vil went to the hospital. Vil checked in, got ‘prepared’, for the procedure and at 09:00 he was brought into the theatre and connected to all cables and tubes.
Then the ‘Sleepy Guy’ arrived and started to send him to the ‘Land of Dreams’.
Vil:
“Isn’t that Propofol, the stuff which killed Michel Jackson?”
Sleep Guy with a smile:
“Yes, but the guy who injected the stuff wasn’t as professional as me.”
Vil:
“That’s reassuring.”
Bang! Darkness…

Think positive & Life now: “Tomorrow, today will be yesterday!”
Think positive & Life now:
“Tomorrow, today will be yesterday!”
More than 200 posts removed.
We cleaned up! It’s time for a new start, a new perspective and a new approach.
We deleted all posts on Facebook (forever), Twitter (not yet!) and we also archived more than 200 posts from the main blog. The posts are not completely deleted, but for the moment they are not available to the public. Allrite, we know that nothing once published can’t be deleted and that the internet remembers everything, but you get the point.
We removed these posts because we wouldn’t write them like this anymore, because they don’t reflect our actual state of mind and mood. These posts are still there and a part of our story, but we want to get rid of this sometimes quite negative, depressing, raw or even shocking content and we will re-re-write everything in a more positive way. We are sorry because sometimes emotions took over and we were quite angry and surely unfair and we deeply apologise for that.
Life is wonderful, TODAY!
We learned that life is too short to be wasted on anger, disappointments or just stupid things because life is beautiful and …
‘Tomorrow, today will be yesterday!’
There are so many people only living ‘tomorrow’ ….. when they buy a car, ….. when they go on holidays ….. when they will do something they could do today, but they just dream. They are alive, but they don’t have a real life, they live tomorrows dream.
Are you alive right now? Can you really appreciate ‘the moment’ or are you caught in your daily life with all the ‘I need to do this’ and ‘I can’t do that’?
Ok, life is a bitch! We’ve hit rock bottom so many times, we lost everything we’ve ever worked for. Our car, job, house and family. Sometimes it was our own stupidity, some wrong decisions at the right time, sometimes just bad luck or a health issue and most of the times it was just a combination of all of them.
Now we are happy when the day is a good day. A good day is a day without pain or some other ‘complications’. A day who starts with hot coffee, a day with food, shelter and maybe some nice conversations.
Other than that, we don’t need much to be happy anymore.
